Ruben Mercado Jr. is president and owner of Ipsum General Contractors, LLC, bringing over 30 years of experience in civil and commercial construction. Known for his hands-on leadership and commitment to safety, Ruben has trained hundreds in OSHA-10 and OSHA-30, including Houston METRO subcontractors. Under his direction, Ipsum GC has expanded from civil work to full turn-key solutions in public and private sectors. A U.S. Army veteran, Ruben is a longtime leader within the National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) and currently serves as executive chairman of the Greater Houston Chapter and a national board member. He also serves on the board of the Houston Regional Veterans Chamber of Commerce.
