Wendell R. Stemley is the President of the National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) and the founder of Black IPO, Inc., a prominent construction management and engineering firm he established in 2000. Under his leadership, Black IPO has played a pivotal role in fostering business relationships between minority-owned firms and major corporations, contributing to the completion of billions of dollars in major projects nationwide.

Stemley’s career spans several decades of impactful leadership. In 1990, he became Executive Vice President and COO of Myriad Industries, leading the company’s successful public offering, making it one of the first African American firms listed on NASDAQ. His earlier roles included serving as a principal designer for NATO’s European Repair Test Station Facility in Brussels and working with TRW Space Systems Group and Boeing Military Aircraft Company on key defense projects.

A graduate of Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Stemley is also an alumnus of the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. He has been an active member of NAMC for over 25 years, serving five terms as National President and earning induction into the NAMC Hall of Fame in 2014. His leadership has earned numerous accolades, including the NAACP’s California A. Phillip Randolph Activist Award in 2013 and a spot on Inc. Magazine’s 500|5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in 2012.
